This is the 'kit out of water' from the previous page. It is Dragon's 1/350 German WWII Type XXI U-boat, measuring only 9" (215mm) in length. Her appearance is modelled on an account of 'U-2511' written by J. P. Malliman in his book "U-boats Under the Swastika." An important photo and caption suggests that her last commander had the conning tower painted white because he believed lighter colored vessels were a lot harder to spot from the air than darker ones.
